GOLDEN SUNS TENNIS RETURNS HOME AND POSTS 9-0 VICTORY
OVER UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS

Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Tennis returned to action this
past Saturday and posted a 9-0 win over the University
of Ozarks at its new Chartwell’s Women’s Sports Complex.
Tech, who improved to 3-1 on the combined fall and
spring seasons, opened by collecting all three doubles
matches, including posting 8-0 wins at both No. 1 and
No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Tech only allowed Ozarks to score nine
points in the six singles matches as junior Kristen
Brown (Winona, Texas) and senior Renee Malcuit
(Lakeside, Calif.) posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No.
6 singles, while senior Puja Paul (Kolkata, West
Bengal India) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 and senior
Whitney Simmons (Pottsville, Ark.) won 6-1, 6-0 at
No. 5 singles.
Tech, who was scheduled to face Christian Brothers on
Thursday, Feb. 28 at home, but that match was been
postponed and will be rescheduled later in the season,
will now return to action this weekend when they travel
to Livingston, Ala., to face West Alabama on March 1 at
2 p.m. and then will face Stillman College in
Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Sunday, March 2 at 10 a.m.
