TENNIS DROPS ROAD MATCH AT SOUTHWEST BAPTIST

        BOLIVAR, Missouri – Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Tennis suffered a disappointing 7-2 loss here Saturday in non-conference action to Southwest Baptist.

With the loss, Tech falls to 13-4 overall on the season, while the Lady Bearcats improved to 5-6.

In Saturday’s match, Tech prevented a sweep by SBU in doubles as freshman Brittany Turner (Pearcy, Ark.) and sophomore Michelle Yu (Flower Mound, Texas) teamed together to win 8-4 at No. 2 doubles over SBU’s No. 2 team of Jenna Hendrickson and Trish Moceo.

Meanwhile, in singles play, the Golden Suns picked up a win at No. 4 singles as senior Kristen Brown (Winona, Texas) earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Moceo. In addition, Tech lost in third-set tiebreakers at both No. 2 and No. 5 singles.

Tech will return to action on Tuesday, April 7 when they return to Gulf South Conference action against Ouachita Baptist beginning at 2 p.m. at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex.
