GOLDEN SUNS TENNIS FALLS ON THE ROAD FRIDAY
AT SOUTHERN ARKANSAS

        MAGNOLIA, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Tennis continued its spring schedule here Friday night as they fell 7-2 to Southern Arkansas in a non-conference match at the Southern Arkansas Classic.

Tech, who fell to 4-10 on the combined fall and spring season, struggled against the Lady Muleriders as they won opened the match by losing all three doubles matches and then lost four of its six singles matches, winning only at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

In singles play, junior Puja Paul (Kolkata, West Bengal India) won at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 over SAU’s Nelly Tualla and junior Karissa Lentz (Norco, Calif.) won at No. 3 singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 over SAU’s Aneeka Bhalla. In addition, sophomore Tahnee Crous (Keller, Texas) lost in a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles.

The win by Lentz at No. 3 singles was her team-leading 13th of the season in singles action.

Tech continues play Saturday in the SAU Classic as they face Southeastern Oklahoma at 9 a.m. and Henderson State at 1 p.m.
