HOME MATCH WEDNESDAY TO OUACHITA BAPTIST

Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Tennis returned to action
after a nearly two week break here Wednesday by falling
8-1 to Ouachita Baptist in Gulf South Conference action
at Old Post Park.
With the loss, Tech falls to 4-14 overall on the season
and 0-3 in the GSC, while OBU improved to 6-9 overall
and 3-1 in the league.
Tech opened the match by winning one of the three
doubles matches, but dropped all six singles matches.
In
doubles action, sophomores Kristen Burgess
(Winona, Texas) and Tahnee Crous (Keller, Texas)
collected an 8-5 win at No. 2 over OBU’s tandem of Tauu
Fa and Estephanie Lau.
Meanwhile, in singles action, junior Whitney Simmons
(Pottsville, Ark.) lost a hard fought three-set
match at No. 5 to OBU’s Christy Gatzki, while junior
Karissa Lentz (Norco, Calif.) lost in a third-set
tiebreaker to OBU’s Natalia Drada at No. 3.
The Golden Suns will remain home for two matches on
Friday, April 6 when they host the Tech Classic at Old
Post Park. Tech will open the event with a 9 a.m. match
against University of Ozarks. Following the Tech-Ozarks
match, Ozarks will face Southern Arkansas at 12 p.m. and
then Tech will conclude the one-day event with a GSC
match against Southern Arkansas at 3 p.m.
