GOLDEN SUNS TENNIS DROPS THREE MATCHES LAST WEEK

        RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team dropped three matches last week. Tech's record moved to 3-7 on the year.

Tech dropped it's first two matches in the Northeastern State Spring Classic, losing 5-0 to Southwest Baptist and 5-1 at the hands of Missouri Western. Tech's final match of the week, played at Old Post Park, was a 5-4 defeat to South Dakota.

The final matches of the Northeastern State Spring Classic on Saturday were cancelled due to inclement weather.   

Tech's lone mark in the win column during the Northeastern State Spring Classic came when Kristen Burgess (Winona, Texas) defeated Missouri Western's Andrea Scopen(6-4, 6-2).

Tech netters Tahnee Crous (Keller, Texas) and Kristen Burgess picked up a doubles win over South Dakota's tandem of Amanda Nicol and Maggie Peters. Singles victories included Karissa Lentz (Norco, Calif.) over Amanda Barton (6-3, 6-2), Kristen Burgess defeated Allie Hoffman (6-2, 6-0) and Renee Malcuit (Lakeside, Calif.) downed Rachel Kludt (6-4, 6-1).
