The Arkansas Tech tennis program will conduct a series of four camps June 4-6 at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex, head coach Abby Davis announced Wednesday.
Maria Aleman won a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles, while Nina Greenway and Allison Grahl won an 8-4 decision at No. 3 doubles, but it was not enough as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team could not overcome an early 2-1 deficit after doubles points, falling 5-2 to East Central in the Great American Conference title match on Saturday.
Bohdana Sardak rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, Nina Greenway won a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 6 singles, and the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team (12-5) swept the three doubles points to pick up a 5-0 win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Friday in the semifinals of the Great American Conference championship.
Arkansas Tech sophomore Bohdana Sardak earned Great American Conference Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors, Golden Suns head coach Abby Davis earned her second straight GAC Coach of the Year honor, and the Golden Suns placed three players on all-GAC teams, the conference office announced Friday.
