Lisa Erwin is entering her fifth year overall at Arkansas Tech University and is entering her third year as the school's head athletic trainer. At Tech, Erwin is responsible for providing medical coverage for all of the school's 10 men's and women's athletic teams, including serving as the athletic trainer for the Golden Suns volleyball, basketball and softball teams.

Erwin, who is a native of Raytowm, Mo., came to Tech in August of 2003 as an assistant athletic trainer after spending two years (2001-03) at Texas A&M University as the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team. Prior to working at Texas A&M, Erwin spent one season (2000-01) as an athletic trainer at the University of Kansas, working primarily with Kansas Spirit Squads and Dance team. In addition to her athletic training work, Erwin also spent three years working in Neurology, Genetics, Orthopedics and the Medical/Surgical floor at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

A certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and the Southwest Athletic Trainer's Association, Erwin, who is also certified in CPR/First Aid/AED, earned her bachelors degree in exercise sports science/athletic training in 2000 from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
