Brett Waldon is entering his third year at Arkansas Tech University as an assistant athletic trainer.  In his duties at Tech, Waldon serves as the head football athletic trainer, along with being athletic trainer for the Wonder Boys basketball program.

Waldon came to Tech after spending one year as an assistant athletic trainer at Tech's GSC rival, Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark. While with the Tigers, Waldon served as the athletic trainer for both the football and men's basketball teams.

A certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and the Arkansas Athletic Trainers' Association (AATA), Waldon, who is also certified in CPR/First Aid/AED, received his masters degree in May 2006 in sports administration from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark., and also earned his bachelor of science degree in recreation and sports medicine from Henderson State in 1996. While in graduate school at HSU, Waldon served as a graduate athletic trainer at Ouachita Baptist.

Waldon, who is a native of Fort Smith, Ark., and a graduate of Fort Smith Northside High School, is single and is the father of a son, Michael (19), who is a redshirt freshman football player at Tech this fall.
