Lisa
Erwin,
Head
Athletic
Trainer
Lisa
Erwin is
entering
her
sixth
year
overall
at
Arkansas
Tech
University
and is
entering
her
third
year as
the
school’s
head
athletic
trainer.
At Tech,
Erwin is
in
charge
of
providing
medical
coverage
for all
of the
school’s
men’s
and
women’s
athletic
teams,
including
serving
as the
athletic
trainer
for the
volleyball,
women’s
basketball
and
softball
teams.
Erwin,
who is a
native
of
Raytown,
Mo.,
came to
Tech in
August
of 2003
as an
assistant
trainer
after
spending
two
years
(2001-03)
at Texas
A&M
University
as the
athletic
trainer
for the
women’s
basketball
team.
Prior to
Texas
A&M,
Erwin
spent
one
season
(2000-01)
as a
trainer
at the
University
of
Kansas,
working
primarily
with
Kansas’
Spirit
Squad
and
Dance
team. In
addition
to her
athletic
training
work,
Erwin
also
spent
three
years
working
in
Neurology,
Genetics,
Orthopedics
and the
Medical/Surgical
floor at
Children’s
Mercy
Hospital
in
Kansas
City,
Mo.
A
certified
member
of the
National
Athletic
Trainer’s
Association
and the
Southwest
Athletic
Trainer’s
Association,
Erwin,
who is
also
certified
in
CPR/First
Aid/AED,
earned
her
bachelors
degree
in
exercise
sport
science/athletic
training
in 2000
from the
University
of
Kansas
in
Lawrence,
Kan.
Shu
Hayashi,
Assistant
Athletic
Trainer
Shusaku
Hayashi
is
entering
his
first
year at
Arkansas
Tech
University
and will
be
assisting
the
school's
head
athletic
trainer.
At Tech,
Hayashi
will be
helping
with the
football
and
men's
basketball.
Hayashi,
who is a
native
of
Japan,
comes to
Tech in
August
of 2009
as an
assistant
athletic
trainer
after
spending
time at
Central
Arkansas
Sports
Medicine
as the
Clinical/Outreach
Head
Trainer,
where he
provided
athletic
training
to the
student-athletes
at North
Little
Rock
school
district,
also was
a
supervisor
for
other
Athletic
Trainers
at
Central
Arkansas
Sports
Medicine.
Prior to
working
at
Central
Arkansas
Sports
Medicine,
Hayashi
spent
one year
(2005-06)
as an
athletic
trainer
at the
Lane
Physical
Therapy
Center,
working
primarily
as a
contact
with
Tech and
high
school
athletic
trainers
and
assisted
in rehab
for
athletes
in the
Central
Arkansas
area. In
addition
to his
athletic
training
work,
Hayashi
also
spent
time as
an
assistant
athletic
trainer
at UCA
and an
athletic
training
student
at
University
of
Alabama.
A
certified
member
of the
National
Athletic
Trainer's
Association
(NATA).
Hayashi,
who is
also
certified
in
CPR/First
Aid/AED,
earned
his
bachelors
degree
in
athletic
training
in 2001
from the
University
of
Alabama,
Tuscaloosa,
Ala.
Chang
Choi,
Assistant
Athletic
Trainer
Changryol
Choi is entering his
first year
at
Arkansas
Tech
University
and will
be
assisting
the
school's
head
athletic
trainer.
At Tech,
Choi
will be
helping
with the
baseball
and
football.
Choi
comes to Tech in August of 2009
as an
assistant
athletic
trainer
after
spending
two
years at
Blackburn
College
(2007-09)
as the
as Head
athletic
trainer
for
football,
basketball
and
baseball..
Prior to
working
at
Blackburn
College,
Choi
spent
two
years at
Illinois
Wesleyan,
where he
helped
with the
Men's
Soccer
team as
well as
the
track
team. In addition to his
athletic training work, Choi also
spent
time as
an
intern
at
Orthopedic
and
Sports
Medicine
Center
in
Normal,
IL.
A
certified
member
of the
National
Athletic
Trainer's
Association
(NATA).
Choi, who is also
certified in CPR/First Aid/AED,
earned his bachelors degree in
physical
education
in 1997 from the University
of Yeungnam Univeristy, then went on
to get a
master
in
Exercise
Physiology
in 1999
from Yeungnam
Univeristy.
earned
another
Bachelors
in
Athletic
Training
from
Illinois
State in
2005
then
went and
got the
Master
in 2007
at
Illinois
State.
Choi is
all a
certified
Strength
&
Conditioning
Specialist
(ASCA)
