A NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT FOR 2008-09 SEASON
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
–
Arkansas Tech Head Softball Coach Gidget Pambianchi
has announced the signing of Hailey Granger to a
National Letter of Intent for the 2008-09 school year.
Tech, who is currently 34-13 overall and 16-7 in the
Gulf South Conference, is looking to replace three
seniors on this year’s team.
Granger, who signed during the spring signing period,
joins Heather McAfee, Lyndsey McVay,
Stormi Richardson and Morgan Rodgers who
signed with the Golden Suns during the early signing
period last fall.
“I’m excited to have Hailey Granger coming to Arkansas
Tech and becoming a Golden Sun,” the third-year Tech
coach said about Granger. “She is terrific with the bat
and has had an outstanding high school career.”
Granger,
who is an infielder and designated hitter, comes to Tech
after a standout prep career at Lafayette High School in
Lafayette, La. At Lafayette H.S., Granger is a four-year
starter and letterwinner and has been named a three-time
All-District selection and was an All-Acadiana Team
selection as a senior this year. In her career, she has
hit 21 home runs, driven in 104 runs and has a career
batting average of .427. As a freshman designated
hitter, Granger hit .340, and then hit .485 as a
sophomore second baseman. As a junior shortstop, she hit
.395 and then as third baseman her senior year, Granger
hit .490.
Pambianchi said that the addition of Granger completes
her recruiting class for next season.
