GOLDEN SUNS SOFTBALL TO HOLD AN OPEN TRYOUT ON MAY 21

        RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Softball Coach Gidget Pambianchi has announced that her and her coaching staff is conducting an open tryout for anyone interested in playing for the Golden Suns next season on Wednesday, May 21.

The tryout is open to anyone who is a current high school senior or older and is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on the softball field at Tech’s Chartwell’s Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville.

In her third season with the Golden Suns, Pambianchi, who was named the GSC West Division Coach of the Year, led Tech with a 41-17 overall record and a Gulf South Conference West Division title. In addition, she led Tech to its first-ever GSC Tournament, where they advanced to the finals before losing to top-ranked Alabama-Huntsville. The Golden Suns had six players named First-Team All-GSC West Division selections, including senior pitcher Dana Aldrich (Palm Harbor, Fla.) being named both the GSC West Division Pitcher and Player of the Year.
