GOLDEN SUNS SOFTBALL HAS ITS TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND
AT MISSOURI SOUTHERN CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

        RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Due to the rain and snow that hit the Joplin, Mo., area over the past couple days, Missouri Southern has cancelled this weekend’s Teri Mathis Zenner Memorial Softball Tournament, according to Golden Suns Head Coach Gidget Pambianchi.

“The weather is not going to allow us to play this weekend,” the third-year Tech coach said. “The tournament will not be made up or rescheduled.”

Tech, who was scheduled to play five games in the tournament this weekend, has now had two tournaments cancelled this season due to the weather. Tech was supposed to play at Evangel’s Tournament in Springfield, Mo., on Feb. 23-24, but it was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Golden Suns, who are off to a school-best 15-5 start this season, will now look to return to action on Monday, March 10, when they open Gulf South Conference play with a doubleheader at home against Delta State beginning at 2 p.m.
