SOFTBALL ADJUSTS SCHEDULE, WILL HOST CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
ON SUNDAY AND PLAY AT CBU ON MONDAY
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
Arkansas Tech Softball has made an adjustment to its
schedule as it will now host Christian Brothers in a
doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. at the
Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex and then will travel
to Memphis, Tenn., to face the Lady Buccaneers in a
doubleheader on Monday at 2 p.m.
Originally, Tech was scheduled to play at home on Friday
against Christian Brothers and then face the Lady Bucs
on Sunday in Memphis, but heavy rains in the River
Valley Area on Wednesday and Thursday forced Tech
officials to postpone Friday’s doubleheader.
“The weather is suppose to clear up the next two days
and should allow our field to dry in time to play at
home on Sunday,” Golden Suns Softball Coach Gidget
Pambianchi said.
Friday’s postponed game was the second time this week
that the Golden Suns lost a home doubleheader thanks to
the weather, as Tech was forced to cancel Tuesday’s
doubleheader with Central Baptist thanks to rain.
Tech, who is 27-9 overall on the season and 9-3 in the
GSC, hasn’t played since dropping a doubleheader last
Saturday at Delta State. Tech lost the first game, 11-3
and then fell 5-4 in the nightcap to the Lady Statesmen.
Meanwhile, CBU enters the weekend with a 14-16 record
and a 1-11 mark in the GSC West Division.
