RAIN FORCES POSTPONEMENT OF FRIDAY'S HOME GSC SOFTBALL
DOUBLEHEADER WITH CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
For the second time
this week, the rainy weather in the River Valley Area
has forced Arkansas Tech Softball to make a change to
its schedule.
Thanks to an overnight rain storm and a forecast that
calls for nearly a 90 percent chance of rain over the
next 24 hours, the Golden Suns have been forced to
postpone its home Gulf South Conference doubleheader
against Christian Brothers scheduled for Friday at
Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex. The doubleheader was
scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, Tech had to
cancel its home non-conference doubleheader with Central
Baptist due to rain.
“The rain continues to play havoc with our home
schedule,” Golden Suns Head Coach Gidget Pambianchi
said Thursday.
Pambianchi said that a decision has not been made when
Friday’s doubleheader will be rescheduled. The two teams
are scheduled to play a doubleheader in Memphis, Tenn.,
on Sunday, April 6.
“I’m hopeful we’ll be able to make these two home games
up sometime in the next week, but we’ll have to wait and
see,” the third-year Tech coach added.
Tech, who is 27-9 overall on the season and 9-3 in the
GSC, haven’t played since dropping a doubleheader last
Saturday at Delta State. Tech lost the first
