WET FIELD CONDITIONS FORCE TECH TO POSTPONE SUNDAY'S
HOME SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER WITH CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas –
The
weather continues to wreck havoc on
Arkansas Tech's
home softball schedule as the Golden Suns have cancelled
Sunday's home doubleheader with Christian Brothers due
to unplayable field conditions following Friday night's
rainstorm that hit the River Valley area.
Golden Suns Head Softball Coach Gidget Pambianchi
says that her team will now play a doubleheader against
Christian Brothers on Monday, March 23, beginning at 2
p.m. at the Chartwells Women's Sports Complex. The other
two games of the four-game Gulf South Conference series
will not be rescheduled at this time.
"The rain that hit the area on Friday night has still
left our field very wet and unplayable," the fourth-year
Tech coach said. "I'm hopeful that another of drying
will allow us to play on Monday."
This is the second straight weekend that the weather has
forced the Golden Suns to adjust its home schedule.
Tech enters the weekend having won five straight games
to raise its record to 21-13 overall record and 5-3 in
the GSC. Meanwhile, Christian Brothers enters the
weekend with a 10-6 record and a 2-2 mark in the GSC.
