HOT SPRINGS, Ark. --- A final-round team score of 297 on Tuesday gave Arkansas Tech a 54-hole total of 881 and a fourth-place finish in the 2005 Gulf South Conference Men's Golf Championship at Hot Springs Country Club's 6,690-yard, par-72 Arlington Course.

Tech, which was the defending champion at the event, shot 299-285 during the first two rounds on Monday and was in third place entering Tuesday's final round.

The Wonder Boys were led by Brent Wilson, Nick Quast and Bryon Thom, all of whom earned a spot on the All-Gulf South Conference team by finishing in the top 14 of the individual standings.

Wilson, a senior from Cobble Hill, British Columbia, Canada, tied for second overall with a 3-under par total of 213. He shot 74 and 69 on Monday before finishing with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday.

Quast, a senior from Springdale, finished in sole possession of 12th place. He had rounds of 74-69-76 for a 54-hole total of 3-over 219.

Thom, a sophomore from Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, claimed a share of 14th place with a three-round score of 221. He posted scores of 75-74-72.

Quast's all-conference award is the third of his career. He was also All-Gulf South Conference in 2002 and 2004. Quast becomes just the 10th Wonder Boy golfer in the 41-year history of the program to be named all-conference in three or more years.

It was the second consecutive All-GSC award for both Wilson and Thom.
