DANVILLE, Ark. --- Delta State fired a 2-under par team score of 286 during Tuesday’s final round to post a 20-stroke victory over a 14-team field in the Arkansas Tech Collegiate Golf Classic at 7,047-yard Chamberlyne Country Club.

Delta State’s winning 36-hole team total of even-par 576 is a new tournament record for the Arkansas Tech Collegiate Golf Classic, which is in its seventh year of existence.

The Statesmen were led by the one-two punch of Rodney Boswell and Clark Richardson. Boswell shot 71-71 for a 2-under total of 142 and a one-stroke victory in the individual standings, while Richardson had rounds of 68 and 75 to earn a share of second place at 1-under 143.

Defending champion Central Arkansas (2nd, 596), Southwestern Oklahoma State (3rd, 599), Henderson State (4th, 602) and tournament host Arkansas Tech (5th, 606) completed the top five.

Central Missouri State (6th, 609), Ouachita Baptist (T-7th, 612), Central Arkansas ‘B’ team (T-7th, 612), Missouri Western (9th, 614), Arkansas Tech ‘B’ team (10th, 618), Rockhurst (11th, 619), Central Missouri State ‘B’ team (12th, 620), Southern Arkansas (13th, 639) and Harding (14th, 643) rounded out the team standings.

Tech’s top individual finishers were Nick Quast, who shot 74-74 for a 148 total, and Brent Wilson, who came back from a first-round 80 to tie the low round of the tournament by shooting 68 on Tuesday for a 36-hole score of 148. They both earned a share of 11th place.

Roger Teat (T-35th, 78-78-156), Bryon Thom (T-40th, 75-82-157) and Luke Calcatera (T-46th, 79-80-159) also competed for the Wonder Boys.

Tech’s ‘B’ team consisted of Corey Durham (6th, 68-76-144), Zane Black (T-30th, 83-71-154), Ryan Bright (T-51st, 82-78-160), Scott Sellers (T-51st, 83-77-160) and Chad Marti (66th, 85-85-170).

The Wonder Boys will compete in the UCA Invitational at Greystone Country Club in Cabot next Monday and Tuesday.
