PARTY AT THE PLAZA RETURNS TO 2009 TECH FOOTBALL SEASON

          RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Party at the Plaza, the tailgate celebration outside Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field before every Arkansas Tech home football game, will return to provide Wonder Boys fans with free entertainment and pre-game festivities for a second consecutive season.

            The first 2009 Party at the Plaza is set for Saturday, Sept. 5, beginning at 4 p.m. There will be inflatable games, free ice cream courtesy of the Tech Alumni Association and a live remote broadcast by River Valley Radio personality Johnny Story. Chartwells will cater a pre-game picnic buffet that will be available to fans for $5.

            Kickoff for the NCAA football game between Arkansas Tech and the University of the Incarnate Word is set for 6 p.m. Game tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Those with a valid Tech identification card will be admitted free.  

Future Party at the Plaza dates this season include:

*Sept. 26, Tech vs. Arkansas-Monticello

*Oct. 10, Tech vs. Southern Arkansas

*Oct. 17, Tech vs. West Georgia

*Oct. 31, Tech vs. Delta State

All four of the Party at the Plaza dates later this season will include live music performances. Further information will be provided closer to each date.

The Party at the Plaza on Sept. 26, Oct. 10 and Oct. 31 will begin at 4 p.m. The Oct. 17 Party at the Plaza, which will coincide with Homecoming celebrations at Tech, will begin at 3 p.m.

All five Arkansas Tech home football games in 2009 will kickoff at 6 p.m.
