Tech's Jackson has to
decline invitation to Cactus Bowl
December 14,
2004
Kyle Jackson, Arkansas Tech's
all-conference offensive tackle, was invited to play in the Cactus Bowl ---- an
all-star football game for NCAA Division II players ---- but had to decline
because of academic obligations.
"Kyle has to take the practice test in order to get into student teaching this
(spring) semester and had to decline the invitation," said head football coach
Steve Mullins.
Jackson, a 6-3, 280-pound senior from Texarkana, Texas, was one of two Wonder
Boys selected to play in the all-star game. The other was offensive guard
Jonathan Hayes, who will participate in the January 7 game at Kingsville, Texas.
