Tech remains No. 3 in Southeast Region

Arkansas Tech University stood pat at No. 3 in the latest NCAA Division II
Southeast Region football rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
The Wonder Boys (9-0 overall, 8-0 Gulf South Conference) are joined in the top
three by regionally first-ranked Albany State (9-0) and second-ranked Valdosta
State (8-1) with one week remaining in the regular season.
Arkansas Tech will face Central Arkansas (7-3) at Estes Stadium in Conway this
Saturday in its final regular season game. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, Albany State will take on Fort Valley State (6-3) in a neutral-site
game at Columbus, Ga., and Valdosta State will travel to West Georgia (2-6) on
Saturday to conclude their respective regular seasons

This week's NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll is completed by Carson-Newman
College (4th), Fayetteville State (5th), North Carolina Central (6th), Catawba
College (7th), Shaw University (8th), Miles College (9th), Wingate University
(10th), Central Arkansas (11th) and Kentucky State (12th).
The final NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings of the year will be
announced on Sunday, Nov. 7, and the top six teams in that poll will advance to
the NCAA Division II Playoffs.
Selections and pairings for the 2004 playoffs are scheduled to be announced on
ESPNews between noon and 1 p.m. on Sunday. The selections will also be available
on the World Wide Web at www.ncaasports.com/football/mens.
