Coaches select MVPs from Tech's win at

Arkansas Tech University coaches have selected three Wonder Boys as the
team's most valuable players from Tech's 31-10 Gulf South Conference win at
Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday.
Josh Rogers, a sophomore tight end from Russellville, was named offensive most
valuable player after catching two passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. His
59-yard touchdown grab 49 seconds into the contest gave Tech a quick 7-0 lead,
and his 65-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter increased the
Wonder Boys' advantage to 24-3.
Cedric Cursh, a sophomore defensive end from Foreman, was named defensive most
valuable player. He was credited with five tackles, four of which were solos,
two quarterback sacks, a forced fumble and a pass break-up.
Quincy Jones, a junior cornerback from Houston, Texas, earned the special teams
most valuable player award. Jones was credited with a total of five tackles
during the game, three of which were solos.
The Wonder Boys (7-0 overall, 6-0 GSC) will host the University of
Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils (5-3, 4-2) in GSC action this Saturday. Kickoff
will be at 1 p.m. at Buerkle Field in Russellville.
