Tech coaches select MVP's following win over

The Arkansas Tech football coaching staff has selected its most valuable
players from the Wonder Boys' 35-21 Gulf South Conference win over Southern
Arkansas last Saturday evening at Buerkle Field.
Offensive honors went to wide receiver Michael Crooks, a 5-11, 191-pound junior
from San Jose, Calif. Crooks finished the night with seven pass receptions for
104 yards, a 3-yard touchdown pass and a 91 percent grade from the coaches.
Andrew Jackson, a 5-10, 190-pound junior from Greenville, Miss., took top
defensive honors. Jackson had 10 total tackles, a dozen hits, forced two fumbles
and recovered one fumble, while grading out at 80 percent from his safety
position.
Special teams honors went to punter Glenn Wilson, a 6-1, 205-pound junior from
Conroe, Texas. Wilson punted five times for 186 yards, an average of 37.2 yards
per punt. He placed two punts inside 20-yard line ---- including one key
47-yarder that went out of bounds at the Southern Arkansas 3-yard line with 2:52
left in the game and the Wonder Boys clinging to a 28-21 advantage.
