Arkansas Tech quarterback Jason Campbell has been named as the Gulf South
Conference offensive player-of-the-week following his performance in the Wonder
Boys' 40-14 win over Henderson State last Saturday night.
Campbell, a 6-1, 205-pound junior from San Jose, Calif., is the first Tech
offensive player to capture the award since 2002.
He completed 15 of his 18 pass attempts, good enough for an 83 percent
performance effort, for 212 yards and three touchdowns while putting in only 36
minutes of playing time.
Campbell completed his first seven passes of the evening and had the Wonder Boys
in control at 34-0 when he retired from the game early in the third period.
He threw two touchdown passes of 21 yards to Michael Crooks and another for 34
yards to Josh Rogers.
Harding junior linebacker Scott Dutile was named as the league's defensive
player of the week and Central Arkansas senior return specialist Anthony Lampkin
was selected for the special teams award.
