Tech runners finish 11th in Memphis Twilighter

MEMPHIS ---- The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns finished 11th in a 16-team field
in the annual running of the Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic last
Saturday evening.
Coach Tom Aspel's runners garnered 310 points in a fall cross country affair
that included nine Division I club.
The Suns were led by Ireland freshman Aoife Cooke, who covered the 3-mile
distance in 18:37.71 for 31st place among the 130 individual runners. Senior
Irish teammate Fiona Kehoe was three places behind Cooke at 18:43.38.
Mississippi State University won the Twilight race with 58 points, followed by
Alabama-Birmingham with 61 points, Eastern Kentucky 87, Southern Illinois 88,
Harding 91, Arkansas-Little Rock 215, Memphis 225, Birmingham Southern 244,
Arkansas State 253, Union 289, Arkansas Tech 310, Tennessee State 321,
Tennessee-Martin 333, Christian Brothers 443, Freed-Hardeman 445 and Lyon 449.
Other Tech runners included Brittany Knight, 74th at 21:08.42; Taesha Young,
84th at 21:56.99; Natalie Dawson, 87th at 22:19.12; Jessica Miller, 89th at
22:24.82; Lindsey White, 90th at 22:34.71; and Jessica Findley, next at
22:41.02.
