Aspel finishes among top 50 in Little Rock Marathon

Arkansas Tech cross country coach Tom Aspel finished 48th among the 638 men division runners in the annual Little Rock Marathon on Sunday.

Aspel, 49, covered the 26.2-mile course in 3:19.07.

The winner was native Kenyan John Weru, 25, of Mountain View, Calif., who turned in a 2:24.10.

A native of Ireland, Aspel has been at Tech since 1978.
