GOLDEN SUNS FINISH SECOND AT HARDING'S SPRING
INVITATIONAL
HEBER SPRINGS, Arkansas

Arkansas Tech Women’s Golf closed out its 2007 regular
season Tuesday with a second place finish at the Harding
University Spring Invitational held here at the Red
Apple Inn Country Club.
Tech finished the 36-hole, two-day event shooting a 675
to finish five shots behind Henderson State (670), who
took home the team title and 40 shots in front of third
place Harding University (715).
Leading the way for Tech was senior Jamie Moore
(Conway, Ark.), who shot a 166 over 36 holes to finish
in third place.
Moore
fired back-to-back rounds of 83.
Henderson
State’s Jenna Chadwick took home individual medalist
honors as she shot a 159 for 36 holes. Chadwick, who
fired a 75 in the first round, shot an 84 in Tuesday’s
final round. Chadwick’s HSU teammate, Mandie Hamilton,
finished second as she shot a two-day total of 164.
Hamilton shot an 80 in the first round and fired an 84
in the final round.
Others Tech finishers behind
Moore
were senior Carissa Sullivan (Van Buren, Ark.),
who shot a 36 hole total of 167. Sullivan had rounds of
83 and 84 respectively. Junior Cassie Bartley (Shirley,
Ark.)
shot a 172 (88, 84) to finish in sixth place, while
sophomore Danielle Lewis (Toronto,
Canada)
fired a 173 to finish in seventh place. Lewis, who shot
a 91 in Monday’s first round, rebounded to shot an 82 in
the final round. The final finisher was sophomore
Casey Wheeler (Little
Rock,
Ark.), who fired a two-day total of 175 to finish tied
for ninth place. Wheeler had rounds of 88 and 87
respectively.
Tech will conclude its season when they compete at the
Gulf South Conference Championships on April 22-23 at
the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
