GOLDEN SUNS FINISH SECOND AT LADY BISON FALL GOLF

SEARCY, Arkansas –
Arkansas Tech Women’s Golf continued its fall schedule
here Tuesday with a second place finish at the Harding
Lady Bison Fall Golf Classic at the Course at River
Oaks.
Tech finished the two-day event by shooting a 682 to
finish four shots in front of third-place Harding. Tech,
who shot a 334 in Monday’s first round, fired a 348 in
Tuesday’s second round. Henderson State took home the
women’s team title as the Lady Reddies fired a 662 for
the two-day event.
Leading the way for Tech was freshman Ana Morales
(Bogata, Columbia), who finished the 36-hole event in
second place after firing a 160. Morales, who shot a 79
in the first round, carded an 81 in the final round of
play. It was Morales’ third-straight Top 15 finish in a
tournament for the Golden Suns.
Henderson State’s Arlene McGarty took home the women’s
individual medalist honors as she fired a 155 to win the
meet. She shot a 78 in the first round and then carded a
77 in the final round.
In addition to Morales, freshman Kyla McIsaac (Kentville,
Nova Scotia) finished in fourth place after shooting a
168 for 36 holes. McIsaac carded an 81 in the first
round and then fired an 87 in the final round and junior
Danielle Lewis (Toronto, Ont.) finished tied for
seventh after shooting a 36-hole total of 171 (83, 88).
Senior Cassie Bartley (Shirley, Ark.) and
freshman Whitney Hicks (Sheridan, Ark.) finished
tied for 13th and tied for 18th respectively. Bartley
shot a two-day total of 183 (91, 92), while Hicks fired
a 187 (91, 96) for 36 holes.
The Golden Suns will return to action on Oct. 21-22 when
they compete at the Rhodes College Invitational at
Tunica National Golf Course in Tunica, Miss.
