GOLDEN SUNS CROSS COUNTRY NAMED TO USTFCCCA
NCAA DIVISION II ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM LIST
RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas –
The Arkansas Tech Cross Country team was recently named
one of 98 programs selected to the 2008 NCAA Division II
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
(USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team list.
Tech, who completed its season this past November with a
school-best fourth place at the NCAA D-II South Regional
in Searcy, Ark., had a team cumulative grade point
average of 3.100.
Senior rehabilitation science major Brianna
Greene (Harrison, Ark.), sophomore nursing major
Lauren Karnitz (DeSoto, Kan.) and freshman nursing
major Jessica Norris (Russellville, Ark.) were
recognized for their outstanding academic performance by
the USTFCCCA as they were named to the individual
Division II Cross Country All-Academic Team.
In addition to the academic honors from the USTFCCCA,
Greene and Karnitz were also named to the Gulf South
Conference’s Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team,
while four other Golden Suns were named to the GSC
Women’s Cross Country Academic Honor Roll.
Adams State College was named the USTFCCCA
Scholar Team of the Year.
Tech was also joined on the All-Academic Team list by
fellow GSC members Harding and Alabama-Huntsville.
Seattle Pacific University had the highest overall team
grade point average with a 3.737.
