GOLDEN SUNS CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS COMPETE IN
WILLIAMS-LAPTAD AND MEMPHIS TIGER TRACK INVITATIONALS
RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas –
Members of the Arkansas Tech Cross Country team
participated in the Williams-Laptad Invitational Track
and Field Meet at Missouri Southern State University on
Friday, April 24 and in the Memphis Tiger Invitational
at the University of Memphis on Saturday, April 25.
At the MSSU meet, senior Brianna Greene
(Harrison, Ark.), finished fifth in the 800 meter race
with a time of 2:27.72.
Sophomore Lauren Karnitz (DeSoto, Kansas)
finished 12th in the 1500 meter run with a time of
5:18.02 and senior Kayla Waldrup (El Dorado,
Ark.) placed 17th with a time of 5:47.06.
Junior Melissa Pollreis (Gravette, Ark.) came in
sixth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:12.60 and
Junior Michelle Pollreis (Gravette, Ark.)
finished 13th with a time of 12:09.55.
At the Memphis meet, Greene finished 13th in the
800 meter race with a time of 2:26.41. It was Green’s
second fastest time ever in the 800 meters.
Waldrup placed eighth in the 1500 meter run with
a time of 5:08.80. It was Waldrup’s second fastest 1500
meter time ever.
Karnitz finished 10th in the 1500 with a time of
5:13.02.
Melissa Pollreis and freshman Jenna Seibenmorgan
(Fort Smith, Ark.) both recorded personal best times in
the 3000 meter run with Pollreis coming in eighth place
with a time of 10:53.86 and Siebenmorgan finishing ninth
in the event with a time of 11:51.06.
