AMANDA GRAPPE NAMED ONE OF FIVE REGION FIVE FINALISTS
FOR WBCA DIVISION II STATE FARM COACHES' ALL-AMERICA

Arkansas Tech’s Amanda Grappe has been named one
of five finalists from Region 5 for the 10-member WBCA
Division II State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team.
The 40 finalists were voted on by WBCA member coaches in
each of the WBCA’s eight award regions.
“What a nice honor for Amanda Grappe,” Tech Women’s
Basketball Coach Dave Wilbers said. “She has had
a great season and is truly deserving of the recognition
she’s receiving.”
Grappe, who was a five-time GSC West Division
Player of the Week and a First-Team All-GSC West
Division selection for the second consecutive season
this year, enters Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. GSC Tournament
semifinal with Arkansas-Monticello averaging 16.8 points
and 8.3 rebounds per game and is shooting 47 percent
from the field and 77 percent from the foul line. In her
three-year Tech career, Grappe has scored 1,112 points
and pulled down 527 rebounds and is the 14th player in
Tech history to score 1,000 points and pull down 500
rebounds.
Joining Grappe as Region 5 finalists are Delta State
senior guard Jennifer Rushing, the two-time GSC West
Division Player of the Year, Tampa senior center Sheena
Walton, West Alabama senior forward Ashton Washington
and Valdosta State senior guard Carley Peterson.
