SOUTHAVEN,
Mississippi
–
Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Basketball had two players
named First-Team All-Gulf South Conference West Division
selections released by the league office on the eve of
the beginning of this year’s GSC Tournament.
The All-GSC teams are voted on by the league’s head
coaches in their own respective divisions and the
coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Junior forward Amanda Grappe (Benton, Ark.) and
senior forward Krishna Baker (Little Rock, Ark.)
were both named First-Team selections by the West
Division coaches.
“It was nice to see Amanda and Krishna honored as All-GSC
West Division selections,” Golden Suns Head Coach
Dave Wilbers said Tuesday. “It just shows you the
respect those two players have from the coaches in the
league. I am proud of both of them for all they’ve
accomplished this season.”
East Division champion West Georgia and West Division
champion Delta State, one of three remaining undefeated
teams in Division II, were the big winners in this
season’s postseason awards. Delta State senior guard
Jennifer Rushing was the repeat winner as the West
Division Player of the Year, while Delta State’s Sandra
Rushing earned her third consecutive West Division Coach
