WONDER BOYS BASKETBALL TO HOST ITS FOURTH-ANNUAL
GOLF TOURNAMENT IN LATE SEPTEMBER
RUSSELLVILLE,
Arkansas
–
Arkansas Tech Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Downey
has announced the date for his program’s fourth-annual
fundraising golf tournament.
This year’s event will take place on September 25 at Russellville Country Club. The tournament format will
be played a four-man scramble and the entry fee will be
$400 per team or $100 per player.
“This is a great
opportunity for the River Valley community to get
involved with the Tech Men’s Basketball program,” Downey
said. “We have moved the tournament this year to the
beautiful Russellville Country Club and our staff and
players will be present for a great day of golf.”
The tournament will
begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., which will be
preceded by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Prizes and giveaways
will be awarded and the tournament will also have
individual hole contests.
“The revenue generated
from the tournament will help our program meet our lofty
goals in terms of recruiting, travel, in the classroom,
and on the court,” Downey added. “If you can’t join us
on Sept. 25, come out to Tucker Coliseum this winter.
“We need your help and
anything you can do is greatly appreciated.”
Downey says that he is
still looking for hole sponsors (a $200 donation) and
prize donations for this year’s tournament. Anyone
interested in participating in the golf tournament or
being a hole sponsor, please contact Coach Downey in his
office at (479) 968-0365 or by e-mail at
mdowney@atu.edu.
