BASEBALL ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGE TO THIS WEEKEND'S
FOUR-GAME HOME SERIES WITH NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE
RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas –
Arkansas Tech Baseball Coach Billy Goss has
announced a schedule change for his team’s four-game
home series this weekend with Northwest Missouri State
at Tech Field.
Goss announced that Friday’s opener,
which was originally scheduled to be one nine inning
game, will now be played as two seven inning games
beginning at 2 p.m. In addition to
adjusting Friday’s games, Goss also said that if
rain postpones Sunday’s series finale, the two teams
will play that finale on Monday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m.
The Wonder Boys enter the weekend fresh off a
doubleheader sweep on Wednesday at home over Southwest
Baptist. Tech opened the twinbill by collecting an 11-4
win and then posted a 14-0 victory in the second game.
In the doubleheader, junior third baseman Tony
Sanchez (Mesquite, Texas) went 8-for-8 at the plate
with four runs scored and two RBIs, including hitting a
two-run homer in the first inning of the second game of
the doubleheader. In addition to Sanchez, junior
shortstop Josh Holloway (Booneville, Ark.) went
4-for-8 at the plate with 8 RBIs and freshman outfielder
Tyler Tate (Fort Smith, Ark.) was 5-for-7 at the
plate with four runs scored and 6 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Northwest Missouri State will be playing its
first games of the 2008 season.
