TECH NAMES KRISHNA BAKER AS ITS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech has named Golden Suns senior forward Krishna Baker (Little Rock, Ark.) as this week’s Athlete of the Week.

Baker is coming off of a 16 point and 12 rebound performance against No. 1 Delta State last Thursday and then on Saturday, she posted 26 points and 10 rebounds in Tech’s 62-49 victory over Ouachita Baptist.

The following is a question and answer segment to help get to know this successful Tech student-athlete:

Why did you ultimately choose to come to Tech?
Krishna Baker: I chose Tech because it's close to home and I love the winning tradition.

Outside of athletics, what is your favorite thing about college life?
KB: Meeting different people.

What is your favorite type of music/group?
KB: Rap or hip hop.

What do you consider your hobby?
KB: Outside of basketball, texting or talking on the phone.

What sport other than basketball do you like to watch or would you like to play the most?
KB: Volleyball and football.

Who is one person that has had the biggest impact on your life?
KB: My daughter, Kyriana.

What is your most memorable moment as a Tech athlete?
KB: When we made it to the national tournament last season.

What is your major at Tech?
KB: Speech Communication

What do you plan to do after graduation?
KB: Go overseas and play basketball.

Do you have a pet?
KB: Nope

How many times a day do you find yourself checking facebook?
KB: At least four because I check it on my phone.

What are your goals for this season/next season?
KB: Make it to the National Championship game in Kearney, Nebraska.
