JEREMY ASHCRAFT NAMED TECH MALE
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Arkansas Tech has
named senior right tackle Jeremy Ashcraft (Marshall,
Texas)
as this week's fifth male student-athlete of the week.
Ashcraft,
who is a member of the Wonder Boys Football team, earns
this week's honor after helping Tech collect a 38-35 win
last Saturday at Arkansas-Monticello. Against UAM,
Ashcraft and his offensive line teammates were named the
Offensive MVP by the Tech coaches after helping the
Wonder Boys offense gain a season-high 446 yards of
offense and score a season-high 38 points. For the game,
Ashcraft graded out at 87 percent.
Since arriving on campus last season, Ashcraft, who is a
transfer from East Texas Baptist, has been a fixture on
the offensive line as he has made 14 consecutive starts
at right tackle heading into Saturday's home game with
fourth-ranked North Alabama. In addition, Ashcraft was
named a Preseason All-Gulf South Conference selection
this year after being a Second-Team All-GSC selection in
2007.
